Wanna know what we are growing?

We just finished seeding cucumbers. 4/9/24

This year we are expanding our selections and we are excited to bring your varieties you probably haven’t seen! Our current starts are some old favorites - Lemon, Market More and Early Fortune - and some fun varieties that will get your family excited about trying new veggies! Stop by for Dutch Yellow, Dragon’s Egg, Green Apple, Armenian Longs, and Sliver Slicers. Can’t decide? Try one of each!

Heirloom Tomatoes are our PASSION!

It’s going to be a great tomato year for us. With over 300 starts in our propagation room, we can pick the best plants to bring into the garden when the night time temperatures hit 50 degrees consistently. We’re expanding our cherry tomatoes this year and we will have plenty to munch on while you shop the market. Look for Sunrise Bumble Bee, Purple Bumble Bee, Pink Bumble Bee, and a new variety for us - Evil Olive.
Our medium tomatoes will include farm happens favorites - Thorburn’s Lemon Blush, Queen of the Night, Ozark Pink, and another Thorburn variety, Terra Cotta. We’re trying some new slicers that are more traditional - Mortgage Lifter and Millionaire - plus a new (for us) striped tomato called Big Rainbow. We’ll have lots more varieties, so come by and taste some new tomatoes with us!
Our tomatoes are 100% Heirloom, grown from seed, and planted with love. Look for tomatoes around the 4th of July this year.

Why ration the passion? Farming is as fun as we make it!

If you aren’t having fun…why do it? Farming is hard work, but we enjoy the smile on your face when you bite into that ripe tomato or tell us about the salad you made with our mixed greens. Stop by and say Hi, and let’s have some fun this summer!

So. Much. Kale

We’re growing a few varieties of Kale and Chard. One of the questions we frequently answer is, ”I want to eat healthy but what do I do with it?” We’ve got you covered. Stop by our booth at the market and scoop up some of our favorite recipes that will supercharge your health and your plate.

What is Biochar? Biochar is a charcoal-like product made from biomass waste, such as wood or agricultural waste. We use limbs that blow down from the trees on the property. We produce out Char in a custom kiln that keeps the process efficient and safe. After production, we “charge” the Biochar by placing it into active compost, worm tea, or other sources that are full of healthy biomass. When mixed into our growing soil, the Biochar helps cultivate millions of microorganisms essential to growing healthy food.

Our Biochar is 100% produced on the farm. It is “charged” with worm castings from our farm’s giant worm bins. One handful of Biochar contains more organisms than humans on the planet right now! Biochar helps keep the soil “live” and thriving, plus offsets greenhouse gasses.

Biochar is a charcoal-like product that contains no petroleum. It is made by heating biomass such as herbaceous or woody crop residues, non-salvageable timber and slash, or animal manure, in a contained system. There are many potential uses for biochar including water treatment, land reclamation, and carbon sequestration. Biochar may also be used as a soil amendment for two purposes – to improve plant health and to store carbon. It is predicted that at least 50% of the carbon in any piece of waste turned into biochar becomes stable, locking away that carbon for a period of several to hundreds of years, offsetting its contribution as a greenhouse gas in the form of carbon dioxide.
